Javeria Saud, previously known as Javeria Jalil is one of the biggest stars of the 1990s. The multi-talented superstar has served the Pakistani showbiz industry in numerous ways. And she continues to entertain fans with her exceptional skills and dedication.
Personal Life:
Javeria Saud was born on 1st January 1972 in Karachi. She grew up in the metropolitan city and earned a diploma in textile design. She has a sister, Rubab Jalil, and a brother Humayun Jalil.
Javeria tied the knot with the handsome actor and producer, Saud Qasmi in 2005. Saud belongs to a very respected and religious family in Pakistan. His father, Zahir Qasmi was a famous naat khawan and qari. Saud grew up in America. Upon his visit to Pakistan, he decided to venture into acting. He debuted in 1993 with the movie, Gunnah. Saud was not very serious about pursuing an acting career and, hence returned to America. In 1995 he met Javeria at a wedding and decided to marry her. The couple has two beautiful children together, Jannat and Ibrahim.
Career:
Javeria started her career as a naat khawan in 1993. She made her acting debut in 1995. In the 1990s she ruled the silver screen, giving some of the blockbusters like Manzilein, Anhoni, Tipu Sultan, Mera Naam Hai Mohabbat, and many others. She worked with the power couple, Zulfikar Sheikh and Tasmina Sheikh in drama serials Thori Khushi Thora Gham, Maa, and Khaali Ankhein. She has also worked with the renowned director, Mehreen Jabbar in the drama, Harjayee, which she recalls as a pleasant work experience. She has also worked in the blockbuster drama serial, Ana on Geo TV, along with the top Indian cast of that time.
After this drama, Javeria took a break of about five years. Javeria maintains that she had done considerable work as an actor by then and wished to explore other aspects of her talent. Hence she focused on textile design during that time. After marriage, the power couple started their production house, JJS Productions. Thereafter, Javeria resumed her acting career with serials under their production banner. In 2008, they launched the drama serial, Ye Zindagi Hai, which became a countrywide sensation. It came at a time when Indian-style soap serials were popular with extravagant make-up, jewelry, and flamboyant interiors. The concept behind Ye Zindagi Hai was to give something to the audiences with which they can relate. It ran for about six and a half years on the channel. It was such a big hit that many production houses launched dramas of a similar genre thereafter. Javeria played the role of Jameela while assuming responsibilities for screenwriting, production, and lyrics.
Another feather in her cap is the blockbuster drama serial, Baby Baji. She played the antagonist, unapologetic, and greedy daughter-in-law, Azra. While she was the vamp in the serial, audiences loved her acting. She made the character appear both fun and evil at the same time.
Javeria is vocal about doing something practically to safeguard the rights of women. She has also worked in serials like Sar-e-Rah, Oye Moti, and the web series, Aurat Gardi which addresses social issues faced by women.
Currently, she is appearing on Green TV’s drama serial, Mohabbat Satrangi, which revolves around the family genre. Javeria has written the script of this drama. It is a JJS production. Both Javeria and Saud are working on the serial.
Along with production, Javeria worked on other projects too. She conducted some fashion shows to showcase her collection. She held international events in Dubai and America, collaborating with Easy Entertainment.
Javeria has also hosted a Ramzan transmission on Express TV. Her show focused on spreading goodness in the holy month by conducting quizzes, sharing knowledge, incorporating CSR, and reciting naat. The idea was to engage both children and adults positively, without giving any controversial element.
